Equal Opportunity Policy for Cornu Management

The Cornu Management Company recognizes its obligations to comply with all applicable Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity programs. We take our responsibilities in this area seriously, and make every effort to hire and utilize experienced qualified, minority individuals and businesses for all spheres of our operations.

With respect to employment, our company is committed to providing equal opportunity in hiring and promotion without regard to race, sex, religion, ethnic origin, or handicap unrelated to the performance of the job. Our employees are made aware of our Affirmative Action policy through the issuance of an employee hand book issued to them when their employment with the company is initiated. This policy is in compliance with all applicable Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity laws. Property Managers typically attend training sessions and then share their knowledge directly with site staff.

We take particular pride in our awareness of issues of interest and concern to those individuals with disabilities in our community. Executive Order 246, which was signed by Governor Michael S. Dukakis in 1984 provides for Affirmative Action in the hiring of individuals with disabilities in Massachusetts. We are sensitive to the requirements of the Americans With Disabilities Act of 1992, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended, and the codes established by the Massachusetts Architectural Access Board.

In our residential policies, we work closely with the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the Massachusetts Housing Finance Agency (MHFA) in preparing and submitting Affirmative Fair Marketing reports. We enjoy an outstanding record in meeting and frequently in exceeding, our goals in housing qualified, minority applicants. We work closely with social service agencies servicing minority communities, and employ many multi-lingual individuals to assist with our outreach to these communities.

In the area of contracting, our company seeks to comply with Executive Order 237. This executive order, signed by Governor Dukakis in 1984, establishes Minority Business Enterprises (MBE's). We make every effort to work with the State Office of Minority Business Affairs (SOMBA), utilizing their directory to identify and recruit desired areas of expertise.

Our record speaks for itself. We at Cornu believe that an awareness and compliance with established Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity guidelines is in the best interests not only of our company, but also the interests of the communities we are pleased to serve.
